Man of the Match / Double milestone / Marmoush to join Frankfurt

Die VfL Wolfsburg Lizenzmannschaft jubelt in der Heimstätte und das Bild ist mit der Unterschrift "Wolf Tracks" versehen..

Micky Man of the Match: VfL defender Micky van de Ven was clocked at 35.05 km/h in the home game against TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday. It is no longer a secret that speed is among the Dutchman’s strengths, but it was even more apparent in comparison to the fastest player on the opposite team, with Hoffenheim striker Ihlas Bebou ‘only’ reaching a top speed of 34.51 km/h. It was hardly surprising, then, that Hoffenheim struggled to get behind the Wolves’ backline, with VfL fans subsequently voting Van de Ven as Man of the Match.

Double milestone: Despite the frustrating 4-0 defeat by Eintracht Frankfurt Women in the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga, VfL Women still had two reasons to celebrate at the weekend. Ewa Pajor made her 100th league appearance for the Green-and-Whites, while her strike partner Alexandra Popp made her 300th competitive outing for the club.

Omar Marmoush to Frankfurt: It had been known for some time that Marmoush would not be extending his contract at the Wolves beyond the current season, but now it has been announced where the Egypt international will be lacing his boots next term: Eintracht Frankfurt confirmed on Monday afternoon that Marmoush will join them. Thank you for all your efforts so far and all the best for the future, Omar!
