VfL Wolfsburg will have to make do without Xaver Schlager in the comings weeks, while Kevin Mbabu has also been ruled out for several days. The Wolves duo suffered knee injuries in Sunday’s 1-0 victory over RB Leipzig, forcing them to pull out of their respective countries’ upcoming international matches.
Mbabu was able to play the whole 90 minutes despite hurting his left knee, but Schlager sustained a more serious injury to his right knee and was taken off in the 70th minute. The Austrian midfielder will undergo surgery on Tuesday.
