Wolter commits to She-Wolves

Midfielder Pia-Sophie Wolter signs new contract with VfL Women through to 2023

After Felicitas Rauch extended her deal with the club until 2023 last week, Pia-Sophie Wolter has now committed her long-term future to the five-time German champions by signing a new contract taking her through to 30 June 2023. The 22-year-old’s previous deal was due to expire in 2021.

Since joining the club from SV Werder Bremen in 2018, Wolter has made 23 FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga appearances for the She-Wolves as well as seven in the DFB Cup and four in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. She will continue to study business administration at the VfL Campus, focusing mainly on sports business.

“An asset to our team”

“I’m pleased to be able to sign an early contract extension with VfL Wolfsburg,” said Wolter. “For me, it’s also a sign of their great appreciation [for me]. When I joined VfL in 2018, I never would have thought my development would go so well. That’s why I’m convinced that VfL are exactly the right club for me to take my next steps. I want to become a regular starter here, put myself in contention for the national team and obviously play successful football and win more titles!”

“Pia quickly found her feet after her move from Bremen, showcasing her qualities in her first season with good performances and a lot of appearances,” added VfL Sporting Director Ralf Kellermann. “Her always cheerful and easy-going attitude also make her an asset to our team off the pitch. That makes it all the more pleasing that she has made a clear commitment to VfL Wolfsburg by signing an early extension to her contract.”
