Wolfsburg have already put a halt to RB Leipzig's ten-game unbeaten Bundesliga run and Eintracht Frankfurt's seven-game equivalent this season, with next opponents Hoffenheim without a loss in six top-flight outings.

Bruno Labbadia's side won 1-0 at home against Leipzig and 2-1 away to Frankfurt; Hoffenheim might come into Saturday's fixture (kick-off 15:30 CET) at the Volkswagen Arena off the back of two draws and six games unbeaten, but the Wolves have already demonstrated this term that they are intimidated by no such sequence.

A goal-laden encounter

On the whole, Wolfsburg boast a positive recent record against Hoffenheim, having only lost one of the last ten meetings on home turf (W6 D3). Goals are also guaranteed: in every fixture with the Sinsheimers in Wolfsburg, the Wolves have scored at least once – and have found the net 25 times in total in those matches. In fact, in the 20 top-flight games between the pair, there have been 70 goals at an average of 3.5 per game, Wolfsburg's highest such figure against any current Bundesliga club.

Two meetings en route to the title

The first top-flight game between the sides set those goalscoring standards high: then in their maiden Bundesliga campaign, Hoffenheim won 3-2 on home soil in 2008/09, the season the Wolves lifted the title. The return fixture in Wolfsburg was more one-sided – Edin Dzeko's hat-trick and a penalty from Grafite helped the Wolves to a 4-0 win as they closed in on the Meisterschale.
