Victory in Leverkusen

The VfL Women earned a 7-0 win away to Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Friday.

The victory – the She-Wolves’ tenth of the campaign – rounded off the first half of the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga season, equalling the Green-and-Whites record haul of 31 points set at the halfway stage last term and ensuring they remain top of the standings.

Pernille Harder scored a hat-trick at the Ulrich-Haberland-Stadion, while further goals from Ewa Pajor, Noelle Maritz, Fridolina Rolfo and Zsanett Jakabfi made sure the result was never in doubt.

Stephen Lerch’s side kick off the start of the second half of the league season with a trip to SC Sand on Sunday 8 December (kick-off 14:00 CET).

“We dominated from the outset”

VfL head coach Stephan Lerch: “The pitch was outstanding, and we got right into our game, were able to link up well and dominated from the outset. The fact that we were 3-0 up after around 20 minutes against compact opponents gave us extra confidence. We kept the tempo high in the second half and barely gave them a chance at goal, so overall we can be very satisfied with the way our last match of the first half of the season went.”
