VfL Women head to training camp

The She-Wolves will gear up for the second half of the season in Portugal’s Algarve.

The squad will travel to Berlin on Tuesday (21 January) before flying directly to Faro on Wednesday morning and then on to the team hotel in Vila Nova de Cacela. They return on Sunday 2 February.

Ideal conditions

This is the ninth time VfL are travelling to the Atlantic Coast for a training camp, and for head coach Stephan Lerch it’s an obvious choice. “A training camp is an important and intense period, so everything has to be right – and it is in Portugal,” he said.

The VfL boss, who is taking 27 players with him, stressed that the focus of the day-t-day work will be on tactics. The She-Wolves will also play two friendlies: first against FC Twente on Friday 24 January, and then a week later against Bundesliga rivals 1. FFC Frankfurt.
