"Unbelievably efficient"

The coaches give their thoughts following VfL Wolfsburg's 3-0 victory away to Borussia Mönchengladbach on Bundesliga Matchday 23.

The Wolves once again put in a purposeful display on the road and were absolutely clinical on Saturday, making the most of their only real chances of the match. Bruno Labbadia's charges were solid at the back and recovered well from a couple of minor individual errors, while goalkeeper Koen Casteels proved unbeatable as the last line of defence. The victory leaves the Green-Whites on course for European qualification next season.

Bruno Labbadia: "It's a wonderful win away to a top team, who played very well, as expected. We made a lot of mistakes in the first half and lost the ball too cheaply, which hurt us. We didn't lose our heads, though, and wanted to give Gladbach a fight and put them under constant pressure. We scored at exactly the right time. We were unbelievably efficient up front and also had that bit of luck on our side, no question. We don't need to apologise for the result though; the team simply played very, very well."

Dieter Hecking: "Over the course of a season you sometimes go through spells when every shot goes in and you create lots of chances. We played a team that's establishing itself near the top of the table. In games like this you don't get 12 chances; you only get maybe five or six, but you have to score from them. That was one issue. Another was that we shouldn't have conceded the second and third goals. A top team can't afford to be that negligent. Wolfsburg put in a very good defensive performance."
