"The result feels strange"

The coaches give their thoughts on VfL Wolfsburg's rollercoaster 3-3 draw away to SC Freiburg.

The Wolves went ahead with one of their first meaningful attacks in what turned out to be an enthralling game in the Black Forest. They appeared to be on course for another away win, but lacked the hard-nosed edge they had shown at Hertha Berlin last week. After conceding a shock equaliser before the break, the second half developed into an edge-of-your-seat thriller, and while Wolfsburg should have taken all three points, in the end they were fortunate to even be returning home with one. VfL head coach Bruno Labbadia and his Freiburg counterpart Christian Streich take stock of the game:

Bruno Labbadia: "Both teams showed incredible passion today. We were wary going into this game given that we'd played in midweek too, but we scored such good goals and were so dominant that - aside from the goals they scored - we didn't allow Freiburg to create any chances. The result feels strange because I can't really criticise my team for anything. The only thing I can say is that games like this are exactly why I love football."

Christian Streich: "I can only agree with that. It was a fantastic, hard-fought match. Going behind three times made things extremely difficult for us and it's great that we were able to fight back. It was a shame we weren't able to complete the turnaround, because we could've used a moment like that. Still, games like this give us energy and I'd have taken a draw if you'd offered me one on 86 minutes. Bruno and his team deserve huge credit, they've got an incredibly strong side and are really well organised. I've enjoyed watching VfL all season."
