"The margin of victory was justified"

The coaches give their thoughts in the wake of VfL Wolfsburg's 6-0 defeat away to FC Bayern Munich.

The Wolves once again departed Munich with nothing to show for their efforts, leaving head coach Bruno Labbadia without a single point in his last 12 meetings with Bayern. Despite defending well early on, the Green-Whites had no chance against the record German champions and suffered their heaviest loss of the season, while Koen Casteels made several fine saves to prevent an even more resounding scoreline. VfL failed to get into their stride in the second half as Bayern cemented their win, ending Wolfsburg's five-match unbeaten run in the process.

Bruno Labbadia: "We don't need to beat around the bush today: Bayern were very good, and we were not. In light of that, I have to say that the margin of victory was justified. We have to accept that, even if it hurts to do so. We weren't able to implement a lot of things we usually do. Now we need to dust ourselves off."

Niko Kovac: "My team had a very good day today; Wolfsburg not so much. The scoreline is a fair reflection of that. We're now where we want to be: at the top of the table. Now we need to recover and achieve what we're all hoping to achieve on Wednesday [in the UEFA Champions League]."
