VfL Women continue to blaze a trail at the top of the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga, coasting to an 8-0 victory at SC Freiburg on Matchday 9 to end the hosts’ three-match winning run. The result maintains VfL’s lead at the top of the table over TSG Hoffenheim and Bayern Munich, who the She-Wolves face twice after the upcoming international break.
The Green-and-Whites travel to the FC Bayern Campus in the last 16 of the DFB Cup on Saturday 16 November (kick-off 14:00 CET) before welcoming the Bavarians to the AOK Stadion in the league seven days later (kick-off 13:00 CET).
“A powerful performance”
VfL head coach Stephan Lerch: “At the end of an intensive few weeks, we showed another powerful performance. We took control from the first minute, applied a lot of pressure, put some really good moves together and scored early goals. Now we can take a bit of a breather and then go into the games against Bayern Munich with great confidence.”
