VfL Wolfsburg Women emerged victorious in their one and only friendly of pre-season, beating PSV Eindhoven 4-1 on Sunday. The She-Wolves dominated the contest at the Liebelt-Arena in Lippstadt, which was split into three 35-minute periods. Alexandra Popp (30’), Joelle Wedemeyer (45’), Dominique Janssen (71’) and Fenna Kalma (105’) got the goals for VfL, after Chimera Ripa’s 14th-minute penalty had opened the scoring for a PSV side who were limited to very few clear-cut opportunities.
The She-Wolves squad returned to their training camp in Harsewinkel not long after the match. Tommy Stroot’s side begin their campaign at 14:00 CEST on Sunday 10 September, when they take on 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam at the Karl-Liebknecht-Stadion in the second round of the DFB Cup.
