Rauch extends She-Wolves stay

Germany international Felicitas Rauch extends her contract with VfL Wolfsburg Women through to 2023.

Felicitas Rauch has wasted no time in pledging her long-term future to VfL Wolfsburg Women. The 23-year-old defender, who joined the She-Wolves from 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam in the summer, has put pen to paper on an extended contract with the five-time German champions, tying her to the club until 30 June 2023. The Germany international’s previous deal was set to expire in 2021.

Rauch has made 16 competitive appearances in her debut season with the Green-and-Whites, scoring her first goal for the club in an 8-1 home victory against FF USV Jena.

“Great consistency at a high level”

“I’m really pleased to sign an early contract extension with VfL Wolfsburg,” said Rauch. “In my view, there’s nowhere else I could develop better – both from a sporting and personal perspective – than here. I fully identify with the club’s philosophy and will all I can to be as successful as possible with VfL in the coming years.”

“So far, Feli has more than lived up to the high expectations we had when we signed her,” added VfL sporting director Ralf Kellermann. “She has settled in quickly with us and has shown great consistency at a high level. I’m sure we – and German women’s football in general – will get a lot more pleasure out of watching her as she’s still a young player and is yet to reach her full potential. It’s really great that she sees her long-term future at VfL Wolfsburg and that she’s made a statement by extending her contract so early.”
