Play-offs for some, friendlies for others

Sveindis Jonsdottir is battling it out for a World Cup berth, while Germany will be playing a high-profile friendly.

The FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga season is already on hold after three matches to make way for the penultimate international break of the year.

World Cup qualifying is over for most countries, with VfL players having enjoyed a great deal of success in that respect. Now friendlies are the order of the day, with one exception – Sveindis Jonsdottir’s Iceland, who are still fighting for one of the last spots at the World Cup. In Dresden meanwhile, there will be a repeat of the recent EURO semi-final.
