Next win for VfL Ladies

The She-Wolves earned a 3-0 win over SC Freiburg on Sunday.

The VfL Wolfsburg Ladies continued their perfect start to the Allianz Frauen Bundesliga season with a 3-0 triumph at home to Freiburg on Matchday 5. A brace from Ewa Pajor and a strike from Noelle Maritz sealed the victory in a one-sided encounter – the team's fifth league win in succession - to keep the Green-Whites at the summit on 15 points. Pajor took her personal tally to nine goals this term to cement her place at the top of the scorers' chart. The next game is already on the horizon for Stephan Lerch's side, with a league fixture away to Borussia Mönchengladbach at the Grenzlandstadion on Wednesday 24 October (kick-off 19:00 CEST).

"Room for improvement"

VfL head coach Stephan Lerch: "I'm very happy with the result and the win, but not so much with the way we played. It wasn't a very good game and we didn't do a lot of things that we normally excel at. There were a lot of misplaced passes, our organisation wasn't always good and we struggled to change the tempo. We had a lot of possession, which helped us dominate the match, but what we did with that possession shows we've still got room for improvement. That said, we're delighted to have kept a clean sheet again."
