Labbadia: "We lacked the knockout blow"

The coaches' reactions following VfL Wolfsburg's 2-2 draw with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

The Wolves put in a decent performance in Saturday’s draw with Hoffenheim, fighting back after conceding an early goal to deservedly lead 2-1 before Andrej Kramaric equalised in the 71st minute. The Green-Whites were unable to find the net a third time in the closing stages, though, and ultimately had to settle for a point.

Bruno Labbadia: "The result is a fair reflection of the game. My team reacted brilliantly after going behind. They didn't lose their heads and I was very impressed by the way we dominated. We were able to pull Hoffenheim out of position and we were very unpredictable out wide. The build-up to our second goal was really good. In the end we didn't win because we lacked the knockout blow in the second half. Hoffenheim played very well and showed exactly why they're in the Champions League. I'm very satisfied with our performance and both teams deserve credit."

Julian Nagelsmann: "I was very happy with the way we played in the first 20 minutes. We deliberately gave Frankfurt possession because we wanted to catch them on the break, which we did really well for our first goal. We lost our way a bit after they equalised and Wolfsburg dominated. We couldn't really cope with their pressing and we lost the ball a lot. We changed things up at half-time and brought on a fifth forward in Adam Szalai to give us a very attacking line-up. Our attitude improved and Wolfsburg only had one more shot at goal. Overall I think it was a fair result."
