Hendrich commits future

Germany international extends contract with VfL Women through to 2024.

Germany international Kathrin Hendrich has pledged her future to VfL Women, adding an extra two years to her current contract that was due to expire on 30 June 2022. The new deal keeps her at the club until 2024.

The 29-year-old joined the She-Wolves from FC Bayern München ahead of the 2020/21 season. She is one of the most experienced players in the German top flight, with 221 appearances to her name. Her greatest achievements at club level to date are winning the UEFA Women’s Champions League in 2015 and the DFB Cup in 2021.

“Really feel appreciated”

“I’m delighted that we have already been able to agree on extending my contract,” said Hendrich. "I feel totally at home at VfL Wolfsburg and have really felt appreciated here right from the day that I joined the club. I’m going to be giving it everything I’ve got to make sure that the new-look team has plenty of success and that we bring more trophies back to Wolfsburg!”

“Important element of our squad”

“I’m delighted that she has chosen to pen an early extension to her deal,” said Ralf Kellermann, sporting director of VfL Women. “The qualities that she brings to the pitch as a versatile and pacy defender, combined with her outstanding personality, make her an important element of our squad.“
