“Disappointed we didn’t win”

There were mixed feelings in the VfL camp following their 1-1 draw at home to Eintracht Frankfurt on Monday evening. While the Wolves missed several opportunities to take the lead, they can count themselves somewhat fortunate that they managed to score a late equaliser after going behind. The Green-Whites dominated for large periods of the game - particularly in the second half - and created good chances throughout, which is why head coach Bruno Labbadia was not overjoyed after his side salvaged a late point.
 
Adi Hütter: “We’re very happy to take a point back today because I know how strong Wolfsburg are at home. The equaliser at the end was frustrating but VfL fully deserved it. We’d already got lucky with them hitting the woodwork twice. After the effort we put in on Thursday [in the Europa League quarter-finals], I’m thoroughly satisfied with a draw today.”
 
Bruno Labbadia: “We had the better chances in the first half but we lacked a bit of sharpness and tidiness in our play. In the second half we showed more conviction and we could’ve put the game to bed early. Eintracht then scored out of nothing. I have to give credit to my team because they didn’t give up and they rolled up their sleeves, but overall we’re obviously a bit disappointed we didn’t win the game.”
