VfL Wolfsburg learned the identity of their first competitive opponents of the 2020/21 season on Saturday, after FSV Union Fürstenwalde came out on top in the final of the Brandenburg regional cup with a 2-1 win over SV Babelsberg 03. It means the fourth-tier side will host the Wolves in the first round of the DFB Cup over the weekend of 11 to 14 September, with the exact date still to be confirmed.
