After the schedule for Bundesliga Matchdays 15 to 21 was finalised yesterday, VfL fans can now put another date in their diary. The German Football Association (DFB) announced today that the Wolves’ DFB Cup last 16 match against RB Leipzig will be played on Wednesday 6 February, with kick-off in Saxony at 18:30 CET.
It’s the third time the two sides are facing each other in the cup, and both of the previous meetings also took place at the Red Bull Arena. The Green-Whites were beaten 3-2 in the first round in July 2011 but supporters have better memories of the last 16 clash in March 2015, when the Wolves won 2-0 en route to winning the competition for the first time in the club’s history.
