Blässe has been with VfL Wolfsburg since 2007 – and this successful relationship is far from over yet. The She-Wolves’ longest-serving player, whose contract was due to expire in the summer, has signed a new deal keeping her at the club until 30 June 2021. The experienced right-back, who celebrated her 32nd birthday on Wednesday, joined VfL 12 years ago from Hamburger SV, having previously played for FF USV Jena. Weimar-born Blässe has made a total of 202 Allianz Women’s Bundesliga appearances for the Green-Whites, as well as 36 in the UEFA Women’s Champions League and 32 in the DFB Cup. During her time with the VfL Ladies, the 2004 FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship winner has racked up two Champions League titles, four German league titles and five DFB Cups. Blässe has also played 27 times for Germany.

“I’m delighted to be able to continue playing for VfL Wolfsburg for two more years,” commented Blässe. “The conditions are great and I feel very happy here so there’s no reason whatsoever for me to move. My signature on the new contract is my declaration of love for VfL, with whom I want to win many more trophies!”
