VfL Wolfsburg Women found out on Monday who they will face in the group stage of the UEFA Women’s Champions League. The She-Wolves, who were placed in Pot 1, were drawn in Group B alongside Slavia Prague, SKN St. Pölten and AS Roma.

Just in time for Christmas

The group matches will take place on 19/20 October, 26/27 October, 23/24 November, 7/8 December and 15/16 December, and will kick off at either 18:30/18:45 CET or 20:45/21:00 CET. The exact dates and kick-off times will be confirmed in due course.

“Clear goal to reach quarter-finals”

Ralf Kellermann, VfL Women sporting director: “We’re looking forward to the interesting challenges in the group and our first competitive meetings with St. Pölten and Roma. There are no easy opponents among the 16 best teams in Europe and Roma, who are on par with Juventus in the Italian league, are particularly interesting for us. With all due respect to the tasks that lie ahead, we’re heading into the UWCL group stage with confidence and the clear goal of reaching the quarter-finals.”

“No foregone conclusions”

“When I think back to our group last year, we could have had a more difficult draw,” said VfL head coach Tommy Stroot. “On the other hand, there are no foregone conclusions at this level anymore. I’m looking forward to great cities, new stadiums and great games.”
