The year 2017 remains a year of special anniversaries for VfL Wolfsburg. 25 years ago, the Wolves made the move into professional football and have now been in Germany’s top-flight, without exception. For 20 consecutive years – 15 of those at home in the Volkswagen Arena. 15 years ago to the very day – December 13th, 2002 – the Wolves home ground was officially inaugurated, in the presence of significant figures in politics, business, management and sport, as well as some 20,000 spectators.
