The Wolves have had to pay a high price for their draw against Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Sunday evening, with injuries to two players. Comprehensive examinations on Monday revealed that Paulo Otavio, who was substituted off in the 54th minute, suffered a serious injury to his left ankle and will be out for an indefinite period of time.

Kevin Paredes, who replaced the Brazilian, also had to leave the pitch due to injury 10 minutes before the final whistle. The 19-year-old American was diagnosed with a strain in his right thigh, but will but out of action for a much shorter period of time.

Another setback for Otavio

Otavio's diagnosis is especially frustrating for him. Prior to this latest setback, the 28-year-old full-back suffered a serious injury in 2020 and another two in 2021. We wish Paulo a speedy recovery and a smooth healing process.
