VfL Wolfsburg have made their first personnel decisions for next season. The contracts of Kevin Behrens, Bartosz Bialek, Bennit Bröger and Niklas Klinger will not be renewed when they expire on 30 June. In addition, the contract of Manuel Braun – currently on loan at SV Waldhof Mannheim – which was set to run until June 2026 has been terminated early by mutual consent.
Changes to staff
There are also changes to the coaching and backroom staff. Fitness coach Jimmy Lohberg has left VfL with immediate effect, while fellow fitness coach Georg Schulz will end his employment with the Wolves in the summer. Rainer Widmayer, who has acted as a link between the first team and the VfL academy, will also no longer be on the Green-and-Whites’ staff in the 2025/26 season.
