Training camp in Almancil

The Wolves and She-Wolves will again head to the Algarve over the winter break.

The plans for the winter break have been confirmed. As in previous years, the VfL Wolfsburg men’s and women’s teams will prepare for the second half of the season in Portugal. Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side will stay in Almancil from 2 to 10 January, while the She-Wolves will also be based at the Conrad Algarve hotel from 8 to 18 January, meaning the training camps of VfL’s two professional teams will overlap, as they did last season.

Direct onward journey to Sinsheim

The men will not be travelling back to Wolfsburg from Almancil, but to Sinsheim via Frankfurt. This is because the Green-and-Whites visit TSG Hoffenheim in their opening match of the year on 11 January (15:30 CET). The women have a bit more preparation time after the training camp, as they don’t return to action in the Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga until the end of January or start of February with the home match against FC Carl Zeiss Jena, the exact date of which is still to be confirmed.
