She-Wolves eye next home win

VfL Women face SC Freiburg in the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga.

Four days after their 7-0 victory over SC Sand in the DFB Cup quarter-finals, VfL Women return to league action on Sunday 6 March (13:00 CET) when they take on SC Freiburg at the AOK Stadion. Ahead of the game, head coach Tommy Stroot spoke about…

…personnel: “Pia-Sophie Wolter, Shanice van de Sanden and Ewa Pajor aren’t available for Freiburg and there’s still a question mark over Lena Oberdorf. She’s had more treatment today [Friday] and we’ll have to wait and see if she’ll be fit to play. All other players – including Alexandra Popp – are available again.”

…a hectic next few weeks: “We still have seven games ahead of us in March. If we include the game against Bayern at the start of April we’ve got some really exciting encounters coming up against Munich, Arsenal, Frankfurt and Hoffenheim, so our fans have some great games to look forward to. We’ll put a lot of energy into our preparations for these games and work in a task-oriented manner.”

…opponents Freiburg: “Freiburg have a lot of interesting, high-quality players. We’ll have to do a lot right again this weekend in order to emerge victorious. We’re convinced we can do so and that’s exactly what we want to exude.”
