Next signing confirmed

Slovenian international Sara Agrez is joining the She-Wolves.

Those in charge at VfL Women are continuing to build their squad for the coming season: after the signings of Jule Brand, Merle Frohms and Marina Hegering, 25-time Slovenian international Sara Agrez has become the latest new addition. The 21-year-old defender has signed a deal tying her to the She-Wolves until 30 June 2025.

She has been playing for 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam since 2019 and was under contract there until 2023, but an exit clause has been exercised which allows her to leave. Agrez has played 46 times for Turbine, and her final match in that particular jersey will likely be the DFB Cup final on 28 May (kick-off at 16.45 CEST), when she will face her future club.

“Can hardly wait”

“VfL Wolfsburg is one of the top clubs in Europe and will give me ideal conditions to develop both on and off the pitch, which is why I believe that this is the right step to take for my career,” said Agrez. “I want to help the team to win trophies and am really looking forward to taking on new challenges at VfL. I can hardly wait to give it my all for the club from next summer onwards.“

“Young with great development potential”

“We’re absolutely delighted that a young defender like Sara with great development potential has chosen VfL Wolfsburg,” said Ralf Kellermann, VfL Women’s sporting director. “She can play on the left side of defence and in the middle. Sara is already captain of a Bundesliga team at the tender age of 21, which speaks for her leadership qualities and shows that she’s ready to take on responsibility. As such, she has exactly the profile that we are looking for both as a player and as a person.“
