New signing from Norway

Norwegian midfielder Ingrid Syrstad Engen has joined the VfL Ladies for next season.

The 20-year-old has signed for the German double winners from Norwegian champions LSK Kvinner but has been loaned to her current club for the remainder of this season. Syrstad Engen has signed a contract with the She-Wolves until 30 June 2021. The nine-capped Norway international is regarded as one of the top talents in her country.

“A player with great potential”

Ralf Kellermann, VfL Ladies sporting director, is convinced by the qualities of his new recruit: “Ingrid already has international experience despite her young age and she’s a player with great potential. Obviously we would’ve liked her to join straight away but with a big Champions League game against Barcelona coming up plus the World Cup in the summer, it makes sense for her to stay in Lillestrøm for another six months.”

Syrstad Engen is also excited by the move: “I’m very proud that as of the summer, I’ll be wearing the shirt of VfL Wolfsburg, one of the top clubs in women’s football.”
