Poland international Katarzyna Kiedrzynek to strengthen the She-Wolves’ goalkeeping options.

Poland international goalkeeper Katarzyna Kiedrzynek will move to VfL from French giants Paris Saint-Germain for the start of the new season. The 29-year-old, will wear the number 77 shirt, has signed a contract with the Green-and-Whites valid until 30 June 2023.

 
Two-time UWCL finalist

 Kiedrzynek has made 24 appearances for PSG in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, 84 in the Division 1 Féminine and 11 in the Coupe de France. There will no further outings in the two domestic competitions at least, with the French football season abandoned due to the coronavirus crisis. In the Women’s Champions League, which is currently suspended, her team are due to face Arsenal WFC in the quarter-finals. She reached the final of the competition with the Parisians in 2015 and 2017, and has also been a runner-up in the French league five times. She was named the best goalkeeper in the league on four occasions. For Poland, Kiedrzynek has clocked up 52 caps and been captain of the team since 2016.

“I’m very proud that I’ll be able to wear the VfL Wolfsburg shirt,” Kiedrzynek said. “Although women’s football has recently made progress and there increasing numbers of attractive clubs with professional facilities, VfL Wolfsburg are still one of the best in the game, just as the Women’s Bundesliga is one of the best leagues in the world. I can’t wait to be a part of that, learn a new culture and of course win trophies!”
