New VfL head coach Tommy Stroot will make his competitive debut with the She-Wolves at the AOK Stadion. Last season’s runners-up and cup winners are at home to 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam on the first matchday of the 2021/22 FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga season, as announced on Tuesday by the German Football Association (DFB) in the provisional fixture list.
Because champions Bayern Munich waived their right to open the season with a match before everyone else, the Green-and-Whites will contest the official opening game on either Friday 27 or Saturday 28 August. The She-Wolves will also finish the campaign on home soil, hosting Bayer 04 Leverkusen at the AOK Stadion on Matchday 22. Exact dates and kick-off times will follow.
