VfL Wolfsburg is pleased to announce that NBA player Daniel Theis has joined the club as a new global brand ambassador. Theis, a long time Wolfsburg fan who was born and raised in Germany, has made a name for himself on the global Basketball stage over the past seven years. This collaboration marks a milestone for the club as it continues to expand its presence in the international sports world.
Strengthening the Bond between the U.S. and Germany through Sport
In 2022, VfL Wolfsburg launched in the U.S. StrongHER, a flagship project in order to raise awareness about the unfair conditions for female athletes and actively provide access to soccer training, mentoring and education for girls and women of all backgrounds. A year later, in 2023, the VfL Dream Trip offered the opportunity for American soccer fans to attend a Bundesliga match in Germany. As part of the global soccer community and as response to current social challenges, VfL Wolfsburg aims to continue to harness the power of sport to bring people and ideas together across national borders.

Daniel Theis: A Member of the Wolfpack
Theis has enjoyed a distinguished 7-year NBA career thus far, playing for teams such as the Boston Celtics, Indiana Pacers and Chicago Bulls. Known for his effort, defense and commitment on the court, Theis has also achieved success representing his country on the international stage. A FIBA World Cup Winner for Germany in 2023, Theis has been a role model for aspiring athletes in Germany and abroad.
"I’ve long been a big fan of VfL Wolfsburg and used to go as a kid every second week to the Volkswagen Arena back in Germany,” Theis said. “To be a VfL Wolfsburg Brand Ambassador is an honor and it feels natural at the same time. I'm looking forward to represent the Club in the U.S. and in other countries as well.”
