Five matchdays of the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga have been completed, and VfL Women now hold a five-point lead over main rivals Bayern Munich at the top of the table. The reigning German champions earned a 2-1 win in Sunday’s top-of-the-table clash in front of a crowd of 21,287 – a record Bundesliga home attendance for the She-Wolves – with Ewa Pajor and Svenja Huth on target for the Green-and-Whites and Klara Bühl replying for the visitors.
VfL are in action again in three days’ time when they travel to Slavia Prague on Wednesday 26 October (kick-off: 21:00 CEST) on Matchday 2 of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Tommy Stroot: “Regardless of the result it was a great match in front of a fantastic crowd. If fans can see the intensity in different phases of the game then we can inspire people for women’s football. It was just a great advert all-round for women’s football. I hope that games like today will draw even more people to the stadium in future. The atmosphere, the crowd was unique. Even though the last 10 minutes were very nervy, it’s also important for us to get through periods like that as a team. We can take a lot of lessons from this game.”
