There is a new face at VfL Women’s training complex following the arrival of 19-year-old Hungarian defender Diana Nemeth, who joins the She-Wolves from Ferencvaros on a contract until 30 June 2027 and will wear the number 15 shirt.

After making her Hungarian top-flight debut as a 15-year-old in June 2020, Nemeth went on to make 22 league appearances and six in UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifying for Ferencvaros. The left-back has also won 12 caps since making her senior Hungary debut in October 2021.

“Grateful to play for such a big club”

The highly rated Nemeth is determined to take the next step in her career at VfL. “I’m very grateful to get the opportunity to play for a club as big as VfL Wolfsburg,” she said. “I’m really looking forward to starting training with the girls and working together to achieve our goals.”

Match practice with U20s

“At the age of 19, Diana already has international experience at club and international level, making her one of the biggest talents in the country,” added Ralf Kellermann, director of women’s football at VfL Wolfsburg. “We’re certain she’ll also establish herself in the Women’s Bundesliga in the medium term, but first she’ll be given the time to take the next steps in her development. For Diana, that includes training with the first-team squad on a daily basis and gaining match practice with the U20s.”
