The Germany men’s national team are playing a number of friendlies as part of their preparations for next year’s European Championship on home soil. On Saturday 9 September, Hansi Flick’s side will take on Japan in the latest international fixture to be held at the Volkswagen Arena. The game against the four-time Asian Cup winners will kick off at 20:45 CEST.

“It’s always special when an international match is held in your own city,” Wolfsburg said in a statement. “We’re all the more pleased that the Germany national team are visiting us for the fourth time, after games against Liechtenstein, Serbia and Canada. It’s a great honour for Wolfsburg as a host city, one that offers the national team the best possible conditions. We hope to see as many people as possible from Wolfsburg and the region making the most of this opportunity and turning the evening into a real festival of football with a great crowd.”
