VfL complete Bialek signing

The Wolves have signed Polish striker Bartosz Bialek on a four-year contract.

VfL Wolfsburg have completed the signing of Polish striker Bartosz Bialek. The 18-year-old joins the club from Zaglebie Lubin, who play in Poland’s top flight, on a four-year contract until 2024. The tall forward registered nine goals and four assists in 19 matches during his debut Ekstraklasa campaign last season as the club finished in eighth place. Bialek has also made four appearances for Poland’s Under-19s, scoring two goals.

“He fits our philosophy perfectly”

“We’re very pleased to have signed a very talented player in Bartosz, who at a young age has already produced very good performances in the Polish top flight,” said VfL sporting director Marcel Schäfer. “He’s young and fits our philosophy perfectly. We’re convinced he can take the next step in his development with us and will help us achieve our objectives in the coming years.”

Bialek to wear number 21 shirt

The Green-and-Whites have handed Bialek the number 21 shirt – the same number he wore in Poland. “For me, moving to the Bundesliga is a dream come true,” said the teenager. “I’m really looking forward to the challenge of continuing my journey in one of the strongest leagues in the world. I’m now going to try and adjust to my new surroundings and get to know my team-mates as quickly as possible, so I can focus all my attention on football.”
