VfL Wolfsburg’s squad for next season continues to take shape, with 19-year-old defender Camilla Küver becoming the two-time Champions League winners’ sixth new signing. Küver, who is currently sidelined by a knee injury, will join on a free transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt and has signed a contract with the Green-and-Whites valid until 30 June 2026.

Since her debut for Frankfurt in October 2020, the native Hessian has made 36 appearances in the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga and seven in the DFB Cup – including in the 2021 final against VfL Wolfsburg, in which her side lost 1-0 after extra time. She can be deployed at both full-back and centre-back, has represented Germany up to U19 level and also spent five months in the USA as part of a semester abroad. VfL have already signed up Chantal Hagel, Anneke Borbe, Lisa Schmitz, Vivien Endemann and Riola Xhemaili for the new campaign.

“Talks were persuasive”

“VfL Wolfsburg are one of the absolute top clubs in European women’s football and offer the best opportunities for me to continue my personal development,” explained Küver. “The talks with the management were very positive and persuasive. I’m happy to be given the chance to make the step up here and I hope I can contribute to the team being as successful as possible in the future.”

“Build up carefully”

Ralf Kellermann, director of women’s football at VfL, said: “Camilla is a very talented player, whose development we’ve been following closely for several years. She established herself in a strong Frankfurt team at the age of just 17. We’ll build her up carefully and we’re confident that Camilla, with her big potential, will take the next steps in her development with us.”
