VfL Women extend their winning run with a 4-0 victory over MSV Duisburg.

Die Frauen des VfL Wolfsburg sowie deren Betreuer jubeln und umarmen sich.

VfL Wolfsburg Women went into the last international break of 2022 with a 4-0 win over promoted side MSV Duisburg. Ewa Pajor struck twice, while She-Wolves debutant Marina Hegering and Alexandra Popp were also in target in front of a 3,086 spectators at the AOK Stadion as the Green-and-Whites cemented their position at the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga summit.

The result means VfL have now won their last 10 games in all competitions. The team’s next match is in the DFB Cup last 16 on Sunday 20 November (kick-off: 14:00 CET), with the reigning holders and record winners away to second-tier side 1. FC Nürnberg.

VfL head coach Tommy Stroot: “When we analysed MSV we said that they were a bold and well-drilled team – and that’s exactly what they showed today. They were very compact. We were very solid today defensively, which was something we wanted to work on after the Bremen game. This was our tenth win in a row in all competitions – and we’ve done that in a difficult period after the European Championship. The girls deserve a lot of respect but I also want to say a huge thank you to my coaching staff for the extremely good way they’ve managed the workload. If Tabea returns to training next week then we won’t have any injured players, which is very special and anything but normal.”
