Holders VfL Wolfsburg have cleared their first hurdle in this season’s DFB Cup, beating second-division MSV Duisburg 3-1 in the final game of the second round. Svenja Huth (43’, 85’) and Lena Oberdorf (44’) were on target for the She-Wolves at the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena after Savanah Uveges had given the hosts an early lead (20’).
VfL will discover their third-round opponents when the draw takes place at 18:30 CEST on Sunday 3 October. They return to FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga action on Saturday 2 October (13:00 CEST), when they visit SC Freiburg.
