VfL Wolfsburg are unveiling their new home kit on Saturday 25 June as part of the reopening of the club shop in the Fanhaus at the Volkswagen Arena. Sporting goods manufacturer Nike designed a truly eye-catching number for the 2022/23 season, which is particularly striking due to its bright yet powerful shade of green. Luminous stripes, made bolder by sophisticated lines, represent the pattern of a prototype from main sponsor Volkswagen, and make for a very special look.
The dark blue accents on the neck and sleeves round off the Wolves’ home kit and, together with the green, form a pleasant colour combination on the shirt. The front of the jersey features the dark blue embroidered Nike logo on the right side of the chest and the green-and-white VfL Wolfsburg badge on the left. The green wolf's head can be found inside the dark blue neck area. The Bundesliga badge can be added on the left sleeve of the home jersey, and the badge of sponsor LingLong on the right. As always, the jersey can be personalised with individual names, and you can choose between the players from the current squad or your own name.
Lower impact on the environment
The new VfL Wolfsburg jersey that the players will wear on the pitch is made from recycled polyester fabric, which is in turn made from recycled plastic bottles. This creates a shirt that delivers top-class performance while having less of an impact on the environment. The plastic bottles are collected, cleaned and melted down to produce a high quality yarn for manufacturing. This is part of Nike's Move to Zero initiative, where sustainability plays a leading role in football. No other sport attracts the kind of global attention that football does. With that in mind, Nike has been using recycled polyester to make football jerseys since 2010. Every year, Nike helps divert one billion plastic bottles from landfills and waterways by producing and designing with recycled polyester.
Dark grey-green design for away shirt
The 2022/23 VfL Wolfsburg away kit boasts a stylish dark grey-green design. The light green embroidered Nike logo on the right side of the chest and the green-and-white VfL Wolfsburg logo on the left add colourful accents. In the centre is the logo of our main sponsor Volkswagen in the same shade of green.
The sleeve cuffs and collar are also in green as a highlight of the jersey, with both complemented by a dark blue stripe at the end. The green wolf's head is visible inside the dark grey area.
On sale from 25 June
The brand new shirts will be available for purchase from 25 June at 10:45 CEST in the newly opened shop at the Volkswagen Arena and online in the Wölfeshop.
