Mohamed Amoura joins from Belgian runners-up and cup winners Union Saint-Gilloise.
VfL Wolfsburg have strengthened their attacking department with the signing of Mohamed Amoura. The 24-year-old joins from Union Saint-Gilloise, who finished second in the Belgian Pro League last season and won the Belgian Cup. “Mohamed has attracted a lot of attention due to his qualities,” said VfL sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz. “We’re pleased that he’ll be a VfL Wolfsburg player going forward. He fits our requirements perfectly, offers immense speed and goal threat and can play in multiple positions in attack. We’re sure he’ll provide a lot of joy to VfL and the Bundesliga as a whole.”
“A perfect match”
Amoura is looking forward to his new challenge in the Bundesliga: “I’m proud and happy that I can play for such a big club in Germany. I’ve always had the Bundesliga in mind as the next step in my career, so VfL Wolfsburg is the perfect match for me.”

Mohamed Amoura
Proven goalscorer
Amoura began his professional career with Algerian club ES Setif, where he previously played at youth level. In summer 2021, the 1.70-metre-tall forward made the move to Europe, spending two years at FC Lugano in the Swiss Super League, where he registered 17 goals and five assists. Shortly after the start of last season, the right-footer switched to Union Saint-Gilloise, where again he demonstrated his goal threat in impressive fashion. Amoura netted 22 goals (seven assists) in 45 games in all competitions in the 2023/24 campaign, putting him among the top attacking players in Belgium. He’s also scored six goals in 27 appearances for the Algerian national team.
