This coming weekend, VfL Wolfsburg will be taking a stand in favour of diversity and the fair treatment of others, with both the women’s and men’s teams set to wear a special diversity jersey as part of the “Hate goes deeper – for fair treatment of others in all places” campaign. In collaboration with VfL’s various partners, the jersey will also feature a number of colourful additions. The Volkswagen logo on the chest will be in rainbow colours, with the men’s shirt having Linglong as sleeve sponsor. The women meanwhile will have Dermaroller on their sleeves and Identica on the back.
Other matchday activities planned
VfL will also be demonstrating their commitment to inclusivity and diversity off the pitch. There will be a special training programme with the inclusivity team at the JSG Gifhorn-Nord sports club, led by VfL legend Roy Präger, and that club will also provide the matchday mascots for the Wolves’ match against Heidenheim. Content creator ‘Faro’ will also be at the fan mile to talk to supporters about the vitally important topic of hate speech. Then on Sunday, the She-Wolves will be accompanied out onto the pitch by the winners of the World Women’s Day creative competition.
