Ahead of a crucial few weeks in the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga and DFB Cup, Felicitas Rauch has ended uncertainty about her future and pledged her commitment to VfL Wolfsburg. The Germany international, whose contract was due to expire at the end of next season, has signed an early extension with the club through to 30 June 2025. Rauch has made 52 league appearances for VfL since joining from 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam in 2019, as well as nine DFB Cup outings and 19 UEFA Women’s Champions League appearances. The 26-year-old left-back, who has played 141 games in Germany’s top flight overall, lifted back-to-back DFB Cups in 2020 and 2021 and won the league title in 2020.

“I want to lead the way”

“I’m very happy to sign an early contract extension with VfL Wolfsburg,” Rauch said. “I have big objectives that I definitely want to realise with VfL. I also want to lead the way and return the appreciation shown towards me with good performances.”

“Central pillar”

Ralf Kellermann, VL Women’s sporting director, added: “Feli has developed more and more into a leading figure over the past few months and is a very important part of our plans for the squad. With her sporting capabilities as an attack-minded full-back and her excellent set plays, she plays a key role on the pitch – but that’s not all. Off it, she’s a central pillar of our team structure with her professional attitude and positive character.”
