Positive COVID test

Merle Frohms will miss the start of VfL Women’s training camp.

Unlike some of her teammates, Germany goalkeeper Merle Frohms avoided COVID-19 during the recent European Championship in England – but the 27-year-old has caught it now. The She-Wolves shot-stopper tested positive on Thursday and can therefore not take part in VfL Women’s media day. Frohms is showing mild symptoms and is isolating at home. This also means that Frohms, who returned to VfL this summer having played for the club between 2011 and 2018, will not travel to the She-Wolves’ pre-season training camp this Saturday.
