VfL Wolfsburg Women kicked off a busy period with a victory on Saturday as the double winners beat 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam 2-0 to maintain their lead at the top of the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga table.
In a repeat of last season’s DFB Cup final, Alexandra Popp and Ewa Pajor scored the goals for the She-Wolves, whose attention now turns to the start of their European campaign. VfL host Austrian champions SKN St. Pölten at the AOK Stadion on Thursday 20 October (kick-off 18:45 CEST) in their opening UEFA Women’s Champions League group match.

- 0-1 Popp (20th minute): Tabea Waßmuth’s cross finds Popp, who goes for the top right corner and leaves Potsdam goalkeeper Jil Frehse with no chance.
- 0-2 Pajor (90th minute + 4): Blomqvist relieves the pressure with a clearance which lands at the feet of Pajor, who races into the penalty area before going around Frehse and slotting in the second goal.
