Pajor commits future

Striker Ewa Pajor has extended her contract with VfL Wolfsburg Ladies until 2022.

Ewa Pajor, currently one of the most in-form players in European women's football, has signed a two-year contract extension with VfL Wolfsburg Ladies. Pajor, whose existing deal was due to run until 2020, is now contracted to the club until 30 June 2022.

"It makes us happy and proud to be able to announce this," said sporting director Ralf Kellermann. "Ewa has recently accelerated her already rapid development and improves our attacking play with her rare mix of qualities. It's great that we can now plan for the long term with her."

Best in the league

Pajor is now in her fourth season with VfL Ladies. Following her arrival from Polish champions Medyk Konin in 2015, she lifted the DFB Cup in her first season with VfL. During the double-winning 2016/17 campaign, Pajor was the side's third top scorer with eight goals in 17 competitive appearances.

Having helped the Green-Whites to defend their league and cup crowns last season, Pajor is now a key figure in Stephan Lerch's team, leading the Allianz Women's Bundesliga scoring chart with 12 goals from eight games so far this season. Overall, the Poland international has scored 35 goals in 66 VfL appearances, as well as three in eight for the club's second team.

Following the trend

"I'm very happy in Wolfsburg," said Pajor. "It's wonderful to play in this great team that is competing for trophies every year. The set-up is very professional. I'm very grateful to the club for giving me the opportunity to play at the highest level and continuing to put their faith in me. I can't think of a better club for me right now."

Pajor is the fourth player to have extended her contract with the Bundesliga leaders in a matter of weeks, following Lara Dickenmann, Claudia Neto and Alexandra Popp.
