Outside title chance remains

VfL Women beat SV Meppen 3-2 to keep the title race open.

Jill Roord vom VfL Wolfsburg rennt jubelnd mit ausgestreckten Händen nach ihren Treffer.

The FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga title will be decided on the final day of the season after VfL Wolfsburg Women beat SV Meppen 3-2, while league leaders Bayern Munich were held to a goalless draw against Bayer Leverkusen. However, VfL’s chances of retaining their crown remain slim as next week Bayern are at home to bottom club 1. FFC Turbine, who have already been relegated. The She-Wolves are at home to SC Freiburg in a repeat of the DFB Cup final on Sunday 28 May (kick-off 14:00 CEST). Reaction Tommy Stroot: “I didn’t like the way we played in the first half, but the fact we managed to come from behind after going 2-1 down in the 84th minute to win the game 3-2 showed tremendous energy, and was something very special.”
