Next new signing confirmed

Kristin Demann is joining VfL Wolfsburg for the new season.

VfL Wolfsburg Women’s squad for next season continues to take shape, with Kristin Demann becoming the latest new recruit for the recently crowned German champions. The 29-year-old joins from this season’s runners-up FC Bayern Munich, where her contract was terminated last week. The 20-time Germany international, who ended the 2021/22 campaign on loan at 1. FC Köln, has agreed a contract with the She-Wolves until 30 June 2025.

Three-time title-winner

Since her top-flight debut for 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam in 2010, Demann has made 147 appearances in the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga, 17 in the DFB Cup and 19 in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. She won the league title with Turbine in 2011 and 2012, before adding another winner’s medal to her collection with Bayern in 2021. The Hanover native made her debut for the German national team in September 2015, having become a European champion with the U19 team in 2011.

“Exciting new challenge”

“I’m very happy about my move to VfL Wolfsburg,” said Demann. “I have an exciting new challenge ahead of me at one of the top teams in European women’s football. As part of this team from this summer onwards, I want to contribute to us achieving our ambitions.”

“Absolute team player”

“We’re strengthening for the new season with a player in Kristin who possesses tremendous domestic and international experience,” said VfL Women sporting director Ralf Kellermann. “With her technical qualities in defensive midfield and as an absolute team player, she’ll benefit our squad in every respect. We’re therefore very happy that she’s chosen to come here.”
