There has been a personnel alteration made in the VfL Wolfsburg medical team. For the coming season, Dr. Stephan Bornhardt (41) will join Dr. Gunter Wilhelm as VfL team doctor. Long-standing team doctor Dr. Günter Pfeiler, has requested to cut back on his responsibilities, but will continue operate in a consulting function for VfL.
Just as Dr. Wilhelm, Dr. Bornhardt also practices orthopaedics, trauma surgery and sport-medicine in the Medical Supply Centre of 'Klinikum Wolfsburg', whilst also actively assisting Basketball Löwen Braunschweig. "Due to our even closer collaboration with the Klinikum, we can guarantee even more medical competence in Wolfsburg," explained Heiko Wehe, Director of VfL.Med.
