VfL new recruits visit Volkswagen factory.

On Monday afternoon the Wolves’ latest recruits were invited by Volkswagen to take a tour of the automotive manufacturer’s traditional factory in Wolfsburg. The guest list included the new coaching staff headed by Oliver Glasner, players Lukas Nmecha, Joao Victor, Kevin Mbabu and Paulo Otavio from the men’s team, and a number of women’s players including Felicitas Rauch, Dominique Janssen, Ingrid Engen, Fridolina Rolfö and Frederike Abt.

Managing Director Dr Tim Schumacher and VfL women's sporting director Ralf Kellermann were also part of the Green-White delegation, which was completed by the recently recruited members of the youth teams, headed by new U-19 head coach Henning Bürger.

"A lot of great insights"

After an official welcome, the guests were taken on an informal visit of the factory that lasted for around 90 minutes. During that time, the Wolves sat in open-top VW Golfs along a seven-kilometre long tour and saw with their own eyes how Volkswagens are built, from the pressing tools through all the various developments right down to the finished Golfs, Tiguans and Tourans.

"It was really interesting and exciting," said a highly impressed head coach Glasner. "I myself was so curious about it all and asked countless questions along the way. I always find it incredible to see how such a huge enterprise works from the inside. We got a lot of great insights."
