“Improve our chance conversion”

Niko Kovac is relying on his side to make the most of their opportunities against the Foals.

With seven points from their last four league games, the Wolves have succeeded in steadying the ship in recent weeks. Ahead of their clash with Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday 15 October (15:30 CEST), VfL head coach Niko Kovac spoke to the media about…

…the Wolves’ points tally so far: “We’re playing our tenth league game of the campaign tomorrow. If you split [our season so far] into two stages, we collected two points in the first and seven in the second. We can make it ten points tomorrow. If we succeed, it’ll be a very good return.”

…playing forward: “We’ve improved in many areas in recent weeks. We can still improve in terms of our football, but the team is making progress tactically. However, we still need to improve our chance conversion.”

…personnel: “We had 22 fit players on the pitch today, which shows that our medical department is doing extremely well. It’s great to have Jonas Wind back now too – he’ll be in the squad.”

…opponents Gladbach: “We’re facing a strong team who want to have a lot of the ball and who have options going forward. We not only have to try and rob our opponents of those solutions, but find our own too.”
